Ganesh Mandali, a volunteer group from South City brought a few children and adults for bird watching at the lake during the month of August, just after the monsoons. The children learned about bird spotting, identification etc.
To mark the International Literacy Day in September, PNLIT along with an NGO – Snehadhara and Pratham books conducted a story telling session for children from South City and Brigade group at the lake. This session was an interactive one where the children got to play a lot in the process too.
An Origami workshop was conducted for children in the month of October by PNLIT along with Mr. Ravi Acharya at the lake. The children were overjoyed to create many different things like flowers, birds etc. which they proudly showed their parents after the session.
Talescope came over in November, with various stories for children. Along with PNLIT they celebrated Children’s day with fun, laughter and a lot of games as well.
In December, Madhurima Das, an avid birder from South City took children and adults around the lake. They got to see the first few migrants for the season.
